Glutathione IV Therapy in Los Altos

INDIVIDUALIZED GLUTATHIONE IV THERAPY

Doctor-Guided Glutathione Support in Los Altos

Pacific Naturopathic offers glutathione as one of several individualized IV options. Our naturopathic doctors evaluate the route, formulation, timing, medical context, and whether glutathione is appropriate for the person—not simply whether it is a popular ingredient.

Our clinic at 881 Fremont Avenue serves Los Altos, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and the Peninsula.

What Is Glutathione?

Glutathione is a compound made from the amino acids cysteine, glycine, and glutamate. It participates in antioxidant defense, redox balance, and normal cellular detoxification pathways. The body produces glutathione and continually uses and recycles it.

Glutathione may be given in different forms, including oral or liposomal products, nebulized preparations in some settings, intramuscular injection, or intravenous administration. N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is not glutathione itself; it is a precursor that supplies cysteine for glutathione production. The best route depends on the clinical purpose and patient.

Why IV Glutathione?

Intravenous administration bypasses the digestive tract and delivers glutathione directly into the circulation. In clinical practice, it may be used alone, as an IV push, or after another nutrient infusion. That does not mean IV glutathione is automatically preferable or appropriate. Dose, rate, interactions, medical conditions, and the larger care plan require individual review.

Individual formulation

Glutathione may be considered alone or with other nutrients only when the combination fits the person and clinical goal.

Medical review

Medications, allergies, pregnancy, asthma or respiratory history, kidney or heart concerns, and current treatment can affect recommendations.

Whole-person plan

Glutathione is not a substitute for identifying contributors to symptoms, supporting nutrition, or coordinating necessary medical care.

Why Do People Ask About Glutathione?

Patients often ask about glutathione in the context of antioxidant support, oxidative stress, detoxification pathways, recovery, chronic or complex health concerns, or a broader IV program. These are topics for a clinical conversation, not guarantees that glutathione will treat a particular condition. Evidence and appropriate use vary by diagnosis and goal.

Responsible expectations: Pacific Naturopathic does not promise that glutathione IV therapy will cure disease, reverse aging, or produce a specific detoxification outcome.

What to Expect

  1. Clarify the purpose. Tell the clinic what you hope to address and what care you currently receive.
  2. Review safety. A clinician evaluates history, medications, allergies, and relevant testing.
  3. Select the route and plan. IV, push, combination use, or a non-IV option may be discussed.
  4. Monitor and reassess. Tolerance and clinical response guide future recommendations.

Related IV Options

Glutathione may be discussed alongside a Myers Cocktail, IV vitamin C, amino-acid IVs, alpha-lipoic acid, phosphatidylcholine, hydration, minerals, or other individualized formulations. These therapies are not interchangeable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is IV glutathione the same as NAC?

No. NAC is a precursor used by the body to make glutathione. They have different properties and are not interchangeable.

Can glutathione be added to another IV?

Sometimes glutathione is used after or in connection with another infusion, but compatibility, sequence, dose, and clinical fit must be determined individually.

Is oral or liposomal glutathione an alternative?

Different routes may be appropriate for different goals. A clinician can discuss practical differences and whether an IV is necessary.

How often is it given?

There is no universal schedule. Frequency depends on the clinical purpose, plan, tolerance, and response.

Who oversees treatment?

IV therapy is provided within Pacific Naturopathic’s doctor-guided practice, connected with Dr. Brian Cox, ND/NMD, and Dr. Krystal Shelmire, ND, as appropriate.
