NAD+ IV Therapy in Los Altos
INDIVIDUALIZED NAD+ IV THERAPY
Doctor-Guided NAD+ Infusions in Los Altos
Pacific Naturopathic offers NAD+ IV therapy within an individualized naturopathic care plan. Before recommending an infusion, our doctors review the reason for treatment, health history, medications, current care, and whether another approach may be more appropriate.
Our clinic at 881 Fremont Avenue serves Los Altos, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and communities across the Peninsula.
What Is NAD+?
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, or NAD+, is a coenzyme found in cells throughout the body. It participates in cellular energy metabolism and many biochemical reactions. NAD+ levels and metabolism are areas of active scientific study, but those facts do not make an infusion a proven cure for fatigue, aging, neurologic disease, or other conditions.
Oral precursors and intravenous NAD+ are different approaches. An IV bypasses the digestive tract and allows the infusion rate to be controlled, but it also requires vascular access, clinical monitoring, and more time in the office.
Why Do People Ask About NAD+ IV Therapy?
Patients may ask about NAD+ in the context of energy, resilience, recovery, healthy aging, cognitive concerns, or complex chronic health goals. The evidence, appropriate dose, and expected benefit vary. Pacific Naturopathic uses a consultation to distinguish a reasonable clinical discussion from marketing promises.
Individual purpose
We clarify what you hope to address and how an infusion would fit with nutrition, sleep, activity, medications, and other care.
Careful pacing
NAD+ is commonly infused slowly. Rate can affect comfort, so staff monitor tolerance and adjust the plan when appropriate.
Ongoing review
Future treatments are based on tolerance and clinical response—not an automatic package or universal schedule.
What an Appointment May Include
- Medical review. Discuss health conditions, medications, supplements, allergies, pregnancy status, and current treatment.
- Clinical planning. Your doctor considers dose, infusion time, hydration, other ingredients, and whether testing is appropriate.
- Monitored infusion. Staff check comfort and response during treatment.
- Reassessment. The plan may be continued, changed, or stopped based on how you respond.
Safety and Tolerability
People can experience temporary nausea, abdominal or chest tightness, flushing, headache, lightheadedness, or discomfort when an infusion runs too quickly. Slower administration may improve tolerance. Vascular access also carries routine IV risks such as bruising, irritation, infection, or infiltration.
Tell the clinic about heart or kidney conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, active cancer treatment, recent procedures, medication changes, and prior infusion reactions. Urgent or unexplained symptoms require appropriate medical evaluation rather than an elective IV.
Related IV Options
Depending on the goal, a clinician may discuss IV hydration and individualized nutrients, a Myers Cocktail, or glutathione IV therapy. These are distinct treatments and are not interchangeable.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an NAD+ infusion take?
Time depends on dose, rate, and tolerance. NAD+ is often administered more slowly than a basic hydration IV.
How many treatments are needed?
There is no universal series. Recommendations depend on the clinical purpose, response, tolerability, and whether ongoing treatment remains reasonable.
Can NAD+ be combined with other nutrients?
Sometimes a broader IV plan is considered, but compatibility, sequence, and patient-specific safety must be reviewed.
Who oversees treatment?
IV therapy is provided within Pacific Naturopathic’s doctor-guided practice, connected with Dr. Brian Cox, ND/NMD, and Dr. Krystal Shelmire, ND, as appropriate.
