What Is Major Autohemotherapy?
Ozone is a gas made of three oxygen atoms. In major autohemotherapy, a measured amount of the patient’s blood is withdrawn into a closed medical system, combined with a precisely controlled oxygen-ozone mixture, and then returned through the IV line. The ozone gas is not injected directly into a vein.
MAH is one method of ozone therapy. It should be performed with appropriate equipment, dosing, sterile technique, and clinical monitoring. A consultation is necessary because the relevant evidence, potential benefit, and risk differ by patient and clinical goal.
